Many Roads Lead to Bernried
Located on the southern edge of the Munich metropolitan region, Bernried can be easily and quickly reached from all directions. The following options are available to you:
Arriving by Train
The regional train RB66 in the direction of Kochel takes you to Bernried from Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) or Munich-Pasing. Alternatively, board the suburban train S6 anywhere in downtown Munich and get off at the final station Tutzing. From there, taxis can take you straight to the hotel (6 km). From Bernried train station to the hotel (1 km) you may chose to take a taxi or walk, either through the picturesque village centre or along idyllic country footpaths. Our front office team can arrange for a taxi to pick you up at one of the train stations.
Arriving by Car or Motorbike
Take the motorway A95 motorway from Munich to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. You can either drive to Bernried from exit 7 via Sankt Heinrich and Seeshaupt or change onto the feeder motorway A952 at exit 4. Follow the latter to its end at Starnberg, where the county road St2063 takes you to Bernried along the shore of Lake Starnberg.
Arriving by Airplane
From Munich Airport, take the suburban trains S1 to Laim, where you transfer to the S6 to Tutzing. Alternatively, take the S8 to Munich Central Station, where you can change to the regional train to Bernried or the S6 to Tutzing.
The taxi ride from the airport to Bernried takes about 60 minutes.
Getting Around
There are always enough free parking spaces on hotel grounds for cars and motorcycles. Parking is free during the entire stay, but requires registration at the front office. Three car charging stations are also available at no cost for guests. Bicycles can be parked in front of the hotel buildings. Boat owners will be offered trailer parking spaces, crane options and guest berths.
Regional trains and buses take you to Munich, Garmisch-Partenkirchen (via Tutzing), Kochel and Bad Tölz (via Penzberg) every hour during the day.
In the summer months, pleasure boats from the Bavarian Lake Shipping Company provide a waterfront view of the villages around Lake Starnberg. The boats leave from a jetty near the hotel.
Bicycles, including e-bikes, can be rented from the Marina Hotel.
There are numerous idyllic hiking and cycling trails around Bernried that are ideal for day trips.
